Being a part of the Band

Students gain a variety of valuable benefits

  • These programs help students develop strong teamwork and leadership skills as they collaborate with peers to achieve musical and performance goals.
  • Both ensembles foster discipline, time management, and perseverance through regular rehearsals and performances, which can positively impact academic success
  • Students enhance their musical abilities by learning complex pieces, improving their technical proficiency, and deepening their understanding of music theory
  • Marching band also provides opportunities for physical activity and coordination
  • Symphonic band nurtures creativity and artistic expression
  • Participation in either or both bands often builds lasting friendships and a sense of community, contributing to students’ social and emotional well-being

Elevating the Student experience

The Student experience - elevated by Parents

Stay Connected through volunteering
  • Connecting with your student and their friends through our volunteer program is the most effective way to remain involved with your student during each Band season. The Band Booster program offers parents the opportunity to engage with their child outside of school and home, while also meeting other parents who are equally passionate about supporting their children's success. The Band program relies heavily on the involvement of parent volunteers and the backing of local businesses, both financially and through hands-on support..
Financial Support and Fundraising
  • In recent years, each student’s family has been asked to contribute a minimum equitable share of $400. These contributions, along with proceeds from our annual Field Festival, merchandise sales, concert door fees, donations from local restaurants, and other fundraising activities, help us establish the budget for the upcoming year. We work closely with Mr. Elmore, your Band Director, to determine the funds required to operate the program annually. Annual operating budget for Band .
The Importance of Volunteering
  • Volunteering provides an opportunity for parents to get involved, connect with other families, and make a meaningful impact on the Band program. Whether your strengths are in organizing, cooking, transporting equipment, or simply cheering on the students, your participation is greatly valued. By working together, we create a supportive environment that allows our Band community to thrive throughout the year.
Making the Band Experience Memorable
  • In summary, the student experience is truly enhanced when families are engaged. Band is a year-round performing art, and family involvement makes a significant difference. Please check back on this page regularly for information about volunteering opportunities, and help make your student’s band experience an unforgettable one.

Volunteers Run the Show!

  • Participation in Northern California competitions is made possible by family volunteers through hands-on involvement. We rely on family volunteers to make these activities possible.
